need help staying motivated...

so i'm finally making a serious attempt at writing the novel i've had in my head for years and (maybe? hopefully?) getting it published. its just so hard to stay focused. today was the first time i've written anything new in over a week. sometimes i'll just stare at my monitor, willing the words to come, and other times the words just flow like...like...diarrhea from a stomach flu victim. sorry, first description that came to mind. but you get the point. anyhoo, anyone have...

My dream started out awaken by a storm (but still, really asleep) I heard two dogs barking so I got up to investigate, I was alone in a house that felt like it was my house (but it was not the house I really live in). It was an old house and my bedroom was up stairs. The Objective of a dedicated employee

The objective of all dedicated employees is to anticipate problems before they occur and act swiftly when called upon to correct problems that have already occurred.

However, when you are up to your ass in alligators it is hard to remind yourself your intial objective was to drain the swamp !
